TASKS AND OBJECTIVES

Tasks and objectives of the Faculty of Business Economics are in compliance with the objectives of higher education. Its fundamental mission is:

• to educate experts in the field of business economics, offering programmes which provide knowledge according to European and world standards, especially in terms of their structure, methods and quality of teaching, usage of contemporary equipment and literature;
• diffusion of knowledge, improvement of socioeconomic development and the quality of living in general, especially with reference to the needs and natural and social potentials of the Kolubarski District.

The Faculty has a task to use its educational and scientific work and its contemporary methods to gather latest scientific findings about both business and social phenomena and to provide high-quality education in order to create competent economics experts, which is in the best interest of our local community, the whole economy and our society. A special task of the Faculty is to focus on the needs of the local community by taking part in projects which are of great importance to the development of the Kolubarski District.

Strategic objectives of the Faculty are:

• exchange of scientific and vocational economic knowledge,
• contribution to the development of economic science and to the education of young scientists,
• available and equal educational opportunities for everybody,
• contribution to our society’s education quality improvement.

Operational objectives of the Faculty are:

• contribution to the quality and efficiency increase in the field of economic science studies,
• Updating of the curriculum and syllabus of our business economics studies,
• Updating of the scientific research in this and related scientific fields,
• Enhancing of the social efficiency in our local and national community.

The objectives of the Faculty create the basis for the control of its successful work and its following results: creation of economic experts capable of applying the acquired knowledge and skills both in domestic and international business, capable of transferring it to others and of initiating development, capable of promoting their own careers and/or continuing their education to higher levels.

The Faculty has a vision, and that is to become a modern European and world faculty, renowned for its educational, scientific and vocational achievements of its staff and its graduate students, as well. The vision of the Faculty is described in the Megatrend University Quality Policy.
